Hello! My name is Ryan Austin, a queer male therapist based in Kirkwood of Atlanta. Like many of the individuals a part of this resource, I have a passion for serving my community and giving back to the LGTBQ+ population through therapy. I have a deep compassion for this community that I am a part of, acting with the knowledge that every queer person has both a uniting piece of our identity that brings us together, and a lived experience that is unique to all the other pieces.

I am trained in Internal Family Systems, which at its core is about welcoming every part of a person when they come into session, which allows for inner exploration and understanding that many of my clients say is nothing like they've experienced before, whether it is their first time in counseling or they're returning to their therapeutic journey. I am also trained in a type of therapy called EMDR, which aims for the decrease in intensity, then processing, of memories that are either traumatic or hold great meaning in our brain and it's narrative system. Clients tell me brings powerful shifts that they didn't know could occur for them.
