Therapist Details

Hello! My name is Dr. Annisa Pirasteh and I am the owner and clinical director of Act2Change Therapy & Wellness Center. I received my Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy from Valdosta State University and my doctorate from the University of Louisiana. My vast education and life experiences make me uniquely qualified to work with a wide range of clients. I provide therapeutic support to clients located in Georgia and South Carolina.

My therapeutic practice centers on collaborating with individuals (18+) who are seeking stability and lasting change. I believe my role as your therapist is to be intentionally different than anyone else in your life. I will challenge you to tap into your own strengths, build resiliency, and reclaim vulnerability, while also fostering a nurturing space that honors your pace and needs. I often infuse humor and creativity into sessions as a way to make our time together enjoyable and engaging.

I am an LGBTQQIAAP+ affirming therapist and am passionate about serving my community. My services are also sex-positive and kink-aware. I will stand beside you on your journey toward honoring your most authentic self. No matter the presenting concern, no one should live in the shadows or suffer alone.

As an inclusive therapist, I am deeply committed to advocating for social justice and equality in our communities, both locally and globally. I recognize that our lived-experiences shape how with think and interact with those around us. Through this lens, I support clients experiencing anxiety, depressive episodes, lack of self-worth/self-esteem, stress, family conflict, relationship issues, existential crises, and other transitional life issues.

My passion for serving the needs of clients from diverse cultures, values, abilities, and backgrounds is what motivated me to open Act2Change. As the daughter of Iranian immigrants, I work closely with the BIPOC community, with a particular awareness of Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian cultures. As a woman of color, I know first-hand just how difficult it can be to find a therapist that understands the particular hardships that immigrant and refugee communities face. My clients find comfort in knowing that I can relate to many of their cultural practices and family dynamics on a more personal level.

We are living through unprecedented times that have had a particularly deep impact on Millennials, Zillennials, and Gen Z. No matter your age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or presenting concern, I am here to hold space for you. If you’re curious to learn more or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out for a free consultation. I look forward to connecting with you :)
