Therapist Details

You made it, and I am honored you are considering working with me. My name is Jacklyn, and I am a therapist at Grounded Wellbeing. I am passionate about radicalizing mental health. For me, this works best when I integrate my lived experience and clinical expertise to hold space for you, all of you. I aim to welcome your whole self into therapy. I specialize in working with trans people across the lifespan, chronic illness, neurodiversity, and complex trauma.

I practice therapy with an emphasis on the relationship we build together. We can take our time as the reasons that lead you to seek counseling are complicated and may even feel confusing.

I am a white queer transfeminine professional counselor licensed in the state of Georgia with experience working with adolescents and adults. My approach to care is trauma-informed and person-centered. I am also neurodivergent, chronically ill, and polyamorous. I practice from an integrative theoretical orientation and believe that change happens by viewing your past, present, and future from somatic, humanistic, developmental, and anti-oppressive lenses. This means that sometimes we may talk about your experiences and feelings while other times we may explore sensation and perception within your body.

To get here, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. Beyond this, I am trained in Somatic Experiencing and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Before entering the mental health profession, I worked in non-profits, as a professional dancer, and within university multicultural student affairs. I understand that life is rarely a straight line from one point to another. Together, I hope that we can use clarity and insight to connect you to where you are at the moment and where you want to go in the future.

Outside of work, you might find me cuddling with my cat, Adele (she loves to sing!). I also enjoy taking naps, watching TV and movies, and testing out new brownie recipes.
